MEET THE AUTHOR:

Brooklyn's journey is a combination of her deep passion for sports and her love for the written word and photography. Raised as an athlete surrounded by sports her whole life, she discovered that her heart resonated not only with the games but also with the power of storytelling and visual narrative.

Born and raised in Orange County, California, Brooklyn attended Pacifica Christian High School and Vanguard University. Currently, Brooklyn has played four years of collegiate golf for the Women’s Golf team at Vanguard University while pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with an emphasis on Emerging Media and Technology. During her time as a collegiate student-athlete, Brooklyn has earned GSAC All-Academic Conference Honors in three straight years as well as 1st Team All-GSAC in 2023 and 2024 and was named team captain her senior year.

 

Back in 2020, Brooklyn joined the social media team at Vanguard where she helped broadcast and market the university’s athletic events. This is when she started to fall in love with working in the social media world. After her time at Vanguard, she moved on to a role at Pacifica Christian High School where she has worked in the Athletic Department for the past three years, working her way up to being the Sports Information Coordinator. Under this role, Brooklyn writes recap articles, photographs events, manages all athletic social media and athletic websites, as well as runs all gameday operations. It was during this time that her passion for writing took off.

As Brooklyn grew, so did her desire to engage with sports differently. She found her voice through writing and crafting unique narratives that brought her passion for sports to life. Her words became a way of telling a story and found ways to convey what she saw to the audience as if they were watching. Through her eye for detail and an ability to capture the moment, Brooklyn's photography skills complemented her written work, painting a vivid picture of events.
